Strength training written for your body, not
downloaded from someone else's.
Online strength coaching means you stop guessing in the gym. You get a written program built around your body, your equipment, and the days you can actually train - then a coach who reads your logs every week, watches your lifts, and changes the plan when it needs changing. It is the difference between owning a program and following one.
Two ways to run it: everything on this page happens online - the coaching, the check-ins, the programming - anywhere in Canada. In Edmonton and want me on the gym floor with you? Same program, coached in person: that is personal training.
Everyone arrives from a different starting point. Pick yours:
How it works.
1. Start with a free consultation.
A free 20-minute call - video or phone. We cover what you want out of lifting, what training you have done before, what equipment you can get to, how many days a week are realistic, and anything sore or previously injured that the plan has to work around. If coaching is not the right fit, I will tell you and point you somewhere better.
2. Get your program, built to your gym and week.
I write your program - the lifts, the sets, the reps, and a target weight or effort level for each one, laid out session by session in the app. Every movement has a demo video attached. The plan is built to the equipment you actually have and the number of days you actually train, not to an ideal week that never happens.
3.Check in, get feedback, and we adjust.
You log your sets as you lift and send me a video when a lift feels off. Each week I read your logs, watch what you sent, and reply with what to change: more weight here, a different grip there, a lighter week when the numbers say you need one. That reply is the coaching - the program is just where it gets written down.
Everything lives in one private coaching app on your phone, built on the ABC Trainerize platform: your program, your logged weights, your form videos, your check-ins, and direct messages with me. No spreadsheets, no PDFs to keep track of.
What is actually in your program.
✓ Every set has a number on it. The lift, the sets, the reps, and a target weight or effort level - never "3 sets of 10, figure out the weight."
✓ Progression is written in advance. You know what to add, when to add it, and exactly what to do in the week a lift stops moving - that week is planned for, not a crisis.
✓ A demo video on every movement, so you are never guessing what a Romanian deadlift is supposed to look like from a written description.
✓ Form review both ways. You send a lift, I send back notes on what to change - the closest thing to having someone standing beside the rack.
✓ Equipment substitutions built in. If your gym has no cable machine or your rack has no safety pins, the plan already names what you do instead.
✓ Mobility and breathing where they earn their place. I teach yoga as well as lift, so hips and shoulders and breath get trained on purpose - not bolted on as a warm-up you skip.
Why I coach strength..
I started lifting because I wanted to be better at something else. I play ringette, and I wanted more left in my legs in the third period - more push off the boards, more time before my shifts got shorter. Lifting turned out to be the thing that gave it to me, and then it stopped being a means to an end and became a sport I competed in.
What I learned along the way is that the program matters less than whether anyone is paying attention to it. I ran plenty of good programs badly - adding weight when I should have held, holding when I should have pushed, training through a niggle until it became a real problem. What changed my lifting was structure I could not talk myself out of, and someone honest looking at the numbers. That is exactly what I sell now, and my results are public: you can look up my meet on OpenPowerlifting and see the numbers for yourself.
I do not compete any more. I lift for my health these days - for ringette, for my back, for still being able to do this at sixty - which is the same reason most of the people I coach lift. What I kept from competing is knowing how to build the plan that gets you there.
I also teach yoga, which means I think about your hips and your breathing as much as your squat. Most lifters get one or the other. Working with me you get both, from one person, in one plan.
Simple pricing: $180 a month.
One plan, everything included: your written program, weekly check-ins, video form review, every revision, the app, and direct messaging with me. Month to month - no long contracts. Add nutrition coaching for $40 more and you are at $220 a month for both, which is $40 less than buying them separately.
Do you need a coach, or just a program?
If you are already progressing on a free program and you enjoy running it yourself, keep going - you do not need me. Hire a coach when you are stuck, when you are coming back after time off, when you are not sure your form is safe, or when a plan that cannot change stops fitting your life.
That is the honest line, and it costs me clients. It also means that when I say coaching will help you, you can believe it. Plenty of people who book a consultation leave with a suggestion and no invoice.
Questions people actually ask.

It is worth it when the plan itself is your problem. If you already progress on a free program and enjoy running it, keep going - you do not need me. Online coaching earns its money when you are stuck, returning after time off, unsure your form is safe, or tired of a plan that cannot change when your week does.

$180 a month, month to month. That covers your written program, weekly check-ins, video form review, and every revision along the way - there is no separate charge to rewrite your plan. If you want nutrition coaching alongside it, the two together are $220 rather than $260.
-
Either works. I write your program around the equipment you actually have - a full commercial gym, a garage rack, or a pair of adjustable dumbbells. Tell me what you have access to on the consultation call and the plan is built to it, not to a gym you would have to join.

A private coaching app on your phone, built on the ABC Trainerize platform. Your program, video demos for every lift, your logged weights, your check-ins, and our messages all live in one place. You log your sets as you go; I see them before your check-in.

Yes, and beginners are the easiest people to help. You start with five basic lifts, learn each one from a demo video, and send me a lift back so I can correct it early - before a habit sets in. Loads start deliberately light and go up as your technique holds.
-
Yes - in Edmonton. Personal training happens at a fully equipped commercial gym or in your own home, and every package includes the same complete program and app coaching described on this page. If you are local and want hands-on coaching, start there.

Yes. Strength and nutrition together is $220 a month - $40 less than booking them separately - and both run inside the same app with one set of check-ins. Training tells your body what to build; food decides whether it can.
